iPhone games on the way

I’ve been spending lots of time recently getting up to speed with iOS development and my first game is already in the review process. Coming soon to an iOS device near you will be ‘Marble Mastermind’.

It’s a game of code cracking and puzzle solving that I’m sure will be familiar to all of you.

I don’t know when it will be out but I will be sure to post when I know.

Happing puzzling!

Antibody screenshots

I know I’m excited about my new upcoming game ‘Antibody’. Perhaps you’re less excited? That could be because you’ve not seen any screen shots of the game in action? Well if that is the case then here are some screens of the first few levels of ‘Antibody’.

Antibody engine complete

The new and exciting ‘Antibody’ is almost ready for release. It’s engine is complete and now I’ve just got to get my arse in gear and produce some more levels. The game is my first foray into 3D gaming and my fingers are crossed that everyone likes it as much as my 2D outings.

Keep your eyes peeled for a shoddy youtube video of the gameplay soon.

Box art for Meltdown Moon

Look! It's Captain Meltdown

When I awoke this morning I found that meltdown moon has passed through the dangerous waters that is the peer review system.  Thanks to all the people that took the time to make sure Meltdown Moon was up to scratch.

So here it is: Meltdown Moon, ready for your downloading pleasure. I’d love to hear what everyone thinks. Please send comments / high scores directly to me.

I’m so excited.

Meltdown moon was designed in 2 distinct phases. The first of these was completely digital, the second was almost entirely on paper.

Here are some of the images from the second phase. As you can see not all of the designs here were used in the final game. Some of the assets were used for more than one thing.

You can also see here the primary task list where we kept track of the bugs and missing features. When working on a small scale like this I find it’s best to keep things low-fi.

Meltdown Moon goes for review.

Meltdown Moon has been submitted for review. If all goes to plan we will be enjoying the meltdown of some moons really soon. To get yourselves in the mood for some meltdowning here are some screen shots from the final version.

As hoped this game will also be available for the cost of 80 msp when it becomes available.

I think this is probably the best game I’ve ever produced. Fingers crossed for a smooth ride across the peer review process.

‘Meltdown Moon’ almost ready for lift-off!

After a few weeks of serious play testing and development my dedicated play testing team of three have given me the all clear for features and game balance.

The audio programming is complete and the final bugs have been squashed. The final version is going to test team alpha for what could be the last time before we are ready for lift-off.

Just a few minor housekeeping tasks are left before we are feature complete and the game can be submitted to the community for approval.

I’d like to thank my test team for all their hard word and feedback. I’d like to think it wasn’t too much of a chore. It is supposed to be a fun game after all!

Keep your eyes peeled and follow me on twitter for more updates and a chance to win copies of the game when it is launched.

In the mean time perhaps you could check out my last game Autumn.

Not the beginning.

TACS has had its first game on the indie market place for almost a month now, so this isn’t the beginning. But it was about time that I got myself a place to shout about my games.

Yes, it really is just me. You can call me @thos_thom. You can find me on twitter there. I’m the designer/developer behind all of the TACS games. If it’s in the game then chances are good I made it. Indie games direct from the bedroom into your XBOXes.

There will be more info on the way about the already released ‘Autumn’ and the soon to be released ‘Meltdown Moon’. So stay tuned for more info, insights into the development process and some code giveaways in the next few weeks.

Looking forward to seeing you there.
